Please Kill off Meredith

Enough already! I’ve had enough. Meredith Grey has got to go.

Grey’s Anatomy has been on for 17 seasons. Yes, 17. A whole child could be born and graduate from high school by now, 17. You can dip out for a few seasons and come back and it’ll be as if you never left. Like come on. This show has been a prime time soap opera for 12 of the 17 years.

Meredith Grey the primary character of the show has had sex with a few folks from work, almost died like 20 times, lost her husband, her sister, and multiple best friends. Nobody on the face of the earth has a will to live like Meredith Grey and it’s annoying.

Don’t get me wrong I want people to live long beautiful lives but like come on. Okay there was one lady we knew growing up who was always in the hospital because she had a stroke. So much so that by the time she did die we just didn’t believe it for a bit. She’s been knocking on heaven’s door for years. Maybe her room wasn’t ready or something. Other than that, most people have some fight in them and will go through a few near death ventures at max. Ultimately they’re tired and their body is tired.

Here I am mildly invested in the story mostly because I thought the series finale was coming like three years ago but then it kept getting renewed. I’m like, you’ve explored every option Meredith can have. You’ve brought people back for rendezvous with Meredith in purgatory for the past couple of months. Like, just send her on to glory land.

I think there may be some sensitivity because she caught Covid and that’s the cause of her near death situation right now. However, I think they should let her recover so that the Covid story is out of the way and then immediately at the season finale kill her. Maybe a sniper got the wrong person, maybe there’s a short circuit in her hospital room and the blood pressure machine never stops squeezing her arm and nobody notices until it’s too late. Maybe she goes home thinks the mouthwash is blue Kool-Aid and she o.d’s on mouthwash.

Honestly at this point I’d appreciate a gas leak, with a power main break, with a fire and all of Grey Sloan just goes up.

What I want is for them to let us go. Stop holding us in this Grey’s Anatomy cycle of chaos. Heck, put Grey’s on Saturday at 4 pm when everyone will forget it even exists. Yes, I could quit the show but I’m no quitter. I’m just asking ABC and all of those involved with the show to just walk away, never look back. Let reruns exist on Lifetime and Netflix or something and collect the residual checks in perpetuity. Yeah I’m just hate watching the show now.

I’d like to propose the Grey’s Anatomy bill to congress and ask that they make it illegal for any running narrative show to go longer than 5–7 seasons. While they pass this legislation they add a clause that Grey’s Anatomy must cease and desist and pay retribution to all of us loyal watchers for holding us against our natural will.

Kill Meredith off and let us all go. This is a hostage situation at this point. Someone save us. If congress won’t take it on, the people must. Take to the streets, angry react to all positive posts about Grey’s. Do what you can to free us all. Make a petition to hire me to the head writing staff of the show. Let me direct it.

Anyway, I guess I’ll watch next week and see if Meredith gains her full strength.
